Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This policy explains what information the Muallac puzzle app ("Muallac", "we", "us") collects, why, and what you can do about it. Muallac has no accounts: we never ask for your name, email address, phone number or contacts.
What we collect
- An anonymous player ID. A random ID created on your phone by our purchase provider, RevenueCat. It is how our server tells your progress apart from other players'. It is not linked to your name or Apple ID.
- Game progress. Which levels you have reached and which daily puzzles you finished, per game and language, so your progress and streaks come back on every launch.
- Premium status. Whether you have Premium and when it expires, checked with RevenueCat.
- Technical data. When the app talks to our server, the server sees your IP address, app version, language and date. We use the IP address only to limit abuse (rate limiting) and it may appear in short-lived server logs.
Your settings, hints, puzzles in progress and downloaded puzzles stay on your phone and are not sent to us.
Purchases
Premium is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or billing details. We use RevenueCat to process and verify purchases. RevenueCat receives your anonymous player ID, purchase history from Apple and basic device information such as app version, operating system and country.
Ads
Free players see ads served by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies). Premium players don't see ads, and the ad service isn't started for them. To show and measure ads, Unity may collect device information, your IP address, approximate location derived from it, the vendor identifier (IDFV) and how you interact with ads.
Muallac asks for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before Unity can use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalize ads. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", ads are still shown but are not based on your activity in other apps. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Why we use it
- To run the app: save and restore your progress, serve daily puzzles and levels.
- To provide Premium: confirm your purchase and unlock its features.
- To show ads to free players, which keeps the free version available.
- To keep the service secure and working: prevent abuse and fix problems.
Where privacy laws such as the GDPR or Türkiye's KVKK apply, we rely on performing our agreement with you (running the app and Premium), our legitimate interest (security and abuse prevention) and your consent (personalized ads through the tracking prompt).
We do not sell your personal information.
Where it is stored and for how long
- Our server is hosted by Hetzner in Germany. Progress and Premium status are kept while you use the app, until you ask us to delete them.
- Nightly backups of the server database are kept for 14 days.
- Server logs are rotated automatically and kept only briefly.
- RevenueCat and Unity may process data in the United States and other countries under their own privacy policies, linked above.
Your choices and rights
- Turn off ad tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Remove all data stored on your phone by deleting the app.
- Avoid ads entirely with Premium.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing support@muallac.app. Because we don't know who you are, we may ask for something that identifies your purchases, such as an App Store receipt.
- You may also complain to your local data protection authority (in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority, KVKK).
Children
Muallac is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top. Continuing to use Muallac after a change means the updated policy applies.
